Welcome To INDY
It’s been a long time coming, the Domain name ‘indy.org.uk’ has been registered since 2015 but Real Life™ gets in the way sometimes but it’s always been bubbling in the background, helping when I can, mostly from home or at the local Community Center where I used to look after the Studio and maintain the equipment there, also help the Guitar Class, still run by Phil, when I could, showing people how to look after their guitars, after all it’s not really that hard but what is harder is keeping up the routine to make sure your Guitar is the best it can be, whatever its cost.
It started just with Guitars but with my own other interests it expanded into other instruments and to be honest a lot of it is just common sense or takes a little research and some of it is just cleaning but as I only try to use natural products it can be challenging to get the tougher marks off equipment but as we are not after getting the instrument to look like new, which is almost impossible with older gear, the patina is part of the equipments history so is left as is, if you have a look around at the Projects Gallery you’ll get the idea what goes on here.
Having been involved in Community work in Altrincham since 2011 and later on the music involvment started in 2017, running 2 Music Groups at the Broomwood Community Center, INDY is an extension of that and my personal interest in fixing up broken and unwanted instruments which started properly around 2018 and I still feel the need to help even though my involvement is a lot less than I’d like it to be due to personal circumstances, at INDY it doesn’t matter who’s involved as it’s not done for recognition but more importantly, it’s about what we do.
INDY operates a strict confidential work ethic and is all inclusive, the main reason INDY exists is for respite and as stated on the Home page, that we believe that money should never be a barrier for creativity, regardless of ability or situation.
